
Andrew CampoAndrew Campo grew up in Hampden, Maine. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at the University of Maine and a Master’s Degree from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. In 2006, Mr. Campo earned his National Board Teaching Certification, which has been achieved by less than 3% of the teachers in the United States. In 1997, Mr. Campo began teaching at Miami Southridge Senior High School in Miami Florida, where he taught marching band, jazz band, three concert bands, and piano for five years. He then taught for six years at Palm Springs Middle School of Choice For The Arts where he was band director and music department head.
Bands under Mr. Campo’s direction have performed in concert with Latin Grammy Award winner Nestor Torres and the world famous Dallas Brass. They have worked with Grammy Award winner Eddie “Guagua” Rivera and Latin Grammy Award nominee Edwin Bonilla. They have played on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and performed on national television. Some of his students have signed recording contracts with major music labels and one has been nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. Some of his students appeared in the movie Drumline. Under his direction, the music program at M-CMS was recently recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a SupportMusic Merit Award Winner, recognizing it as one of the best 150 secondary music programs in America. Mr. Campo has worked at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School since 2008. In his free time Mr. Campo serves as President of the Children’s Kiva Montessori School Board of Directors (Children’s House). He recently served on the SouthWest Colorado Concerts Board of Directors. He currently serves as the Electives Team Leader and recently was a member of the Instructional Leadership Team. He lives in Cortez with his wife and Cortez native Kelly, their son TJ and daughter Grace.

Alex Mohr
Mr. Mohr graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, OH in 2012 with a degree in Music Education and earned a master’s degree from Adams State University. During his time at Wright State, he was active with many ensembles, including the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, Saxophone Quartet, and the Raider Pep band, and was the Vice President of Membership for WSU’s colony of the Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity. While studying saxophone with Dr. Shelley Jagow, he participated in master classes featuring Jean-Marie Londeix, Dr. William Street, Dr. David Nabb, and the Amstel Quartet of Amsterdam. As a member the Saxophone Quartet, Mr. Mohr performed at North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) conferences in Columbia, SC and Chicago, IL, the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Annual Conference in Columbus, OH, and the 2012 World Saxophone Congress in St. Andrews, Scotland. In addition, he was an active performer and occasional conductor with the WSU Men’s Chorale, and served as student conductor and music arranger for the Raider Pep Band.
Outside of his educational commitments, Mr. Mohr taught with the Bands of America National Semi-finalist Northmont High School Marching Band, where he served as a woodwind and tuba instructor and visual caption head. He was also a member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps during the summer of 2009 and 2010, performing in the tuba section. Prior to coming to Cortez to begin his professional teaching career, Mr. Mohr served in the United States Air Force for four years as an Avionics Technician. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Emily, and they have two sons, Sullivan and Elijah.
